Charlie Chen

Charlie W. Chen was born and raised in Taiwan where he finished his undergraduate degree in Atmospheric Science at National Taiwan University. In 1980 he journeyed to USA to pursue his further study and completed his Master’s and continued as a PhD candidate in Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University. Realizing the PC revolution in early Eighties, he changed his major and finished his second Master’s in Computer Science. He also attended the executive programs in graduate school of business at Stanford University, Columbia University and Dartmouth College.

Charlie has founded several enterprises and investment projects in his 30 years business career. In 2015 Charlie was elected as the Chairman of Richardson Chamber of Commerce, “Telecom Corridor” Headquarter and the DFW metro high-tech hub in north Texas. He is instrumental in helping Richardson City and Chamber establishing the 1,200 acres Richardson Innovation Quarter, and the International Office for earning the title of “International Business Capital of North Texas” by Texas State legislation. He was awarded by International Economic Development Council (IEDC) in 2018 with “Citizen Leadership Award” for his outstanding contributions. In 2020 he was honored with the “Citizen of Year”, the highest recognition in Richardson business and community.
