Charlie’s Tech Talks
A Research and Education Outreach Program
Charlie’s Tech Talks integrates UT Dallas’ long commitment to STEM-based research and education with its growing interest in Asian American Studies. Our goal is to create a multi-media educational platform to raise public awareness about
- The economic, philosophic, and societal implications of the technology-driven revolution – from new media to Artificial Intelligence – that is transforming arguably every aspect of contemporary society
- The contributions of Asian Americans and those connected with the Asian American community to aspects of this revolution of particular importance to Texas
Fully implemented, the project will include:
- An ongoing series of web-based podcasts, presentations, and interviews with participants ranging from high-tech leaders to students and rising stars.
- Hybrid panels, colloquia, and workshops focused on the potential societal impact of technological innovations.
- A Distinguished Lecture Series, including an annual Banquet and associated events honoring the Tech Innovator[s] of the Year.
A generous seed grant from the Chen Family Foundation enabled the launch of Charlie’s TechTalks.
